About CYC Football
The Chelsea Youth Football (CYF) mission is to instill in our youth the challenge of competition, the joy of victory, the importance of commitment, and the spirit of community. It is our goal to develop strong fundamentals, discipline, good character both on and off the field, and respect for team and community. Instilling the importance of achievement among our young athletes, the CYF will strive to better prepare players for the competitive realities of middle school and high school football.
 
Chelsea Youth Football offers 2 league choices to our youth – the Jefferson Shelby Youth Football League and the Over the Mountain Football  Football League. A brief description along with a link to more information is listed below:
 
Jefferson Shelby Youth Football Leage (JSYFL)

The 2013 Jefferson-Shelby Youth Football League is curretly comprised of Chaba Valley (Briarwood), Chelsea, Helena, Homewood, Hoover, Jr Cavs (John Carroll), Oak Mountain, Pelham, Spain Park, Thompson, and Vestavia Hills parks. The JSYF league operates under governing 2012 Bylaws and a Board of Directors with each Member Park having a vote in all league matters. The is competitve in nature and has an 70, 80, 90, 105, 120, and 130 pount weight divisions.

Over the Mountain Football League (OTM)

The Over-the-Mountain Recreational Youth Football League offers participation for players in grades 3rd through 6th that live in the Over-the-Mountain areas (Hoover, Homewood, Vestavia, Pelham, Shelby County and others). The philosophy of the program is to develop football fundamentals, encourage participation, and have fun playing the game. The goals of the program are to develop a sense of achievement, leadership skills, and a positive self-image for all participants.  Unique Features include restricted team sizes, limited school night practice schedules, convenient game times and mandatory play guidelines.

Still undecided on which league is best for you and your son?  Choose “undecided” on the registration form.  The CYF board and head coaches will make league recommendations after evaluations.

If registration numers are too low, registrations for the OTM will be placed into the JSYFL or your registration money will be refunded.   

If your son will not be attending a Chelsea school this fall, please contact the CYF registrar at footballregistrar@chelseayouthclub.org prior to registering.
