To all "Prospective" CYC Board Members, Head Coaches, and Assistant Coaches,
As we begin a new year for the Chelsea Youth Club we have elected to begin a new process for conducting background checks on all of our prospective board members, head coaches, and assistant coaches. In the past the CYC has conducted and paid for all of the background checks for each individual sport. In 2011 we will be utilizing an online process that will require each prospective coach and board member to conduct his/her own background check at an expense of $12.95. If your background check meets the requirements outlined in the attachment then you will be cleared to run for any sports board position you are nominated for and coach any activity CYC offers for a period of two (2) years. However, please understand, that being "cleared" by the background check does not guarantee you becoming a board member or being selected for a coaching position. Not completing or not being cleared guarantees you will NOT be considered for a coaching position or board position within the CYC. Utilizing this online process offers several advantages to the club as well as the prospective coach. The club will only be notified if the person has cleared the background check. If for some reason you are not cleared, you have a right to contact KnowMyHire and the CYC Executive Board to discuss your background check.
We fully understand that each caoch provides his/her time, effort, and energy toward our kids and we truly appreciate and value each of them. In order to make sure that each of our kids are protected and safe, these background checks are a necessity. As the CYC has continued to grow year after year, so have the cost of these background checks. This is truly the most confidential and cost effective way to make sure that we provide as safe of an environment as possible for our youth.

BACKGROUND SCREENING INSTRUCTIONS FOR VOLUNTEERS
In order to submit the information needed to process your background check, please follow the instructions outlined below:
1. Visit www.knowmybackground.com and choose the "Get Checked" tab
2. Enter the Organizational Referral Code: "ChelseaYouth" (case sensitive and all one word)
3. Complete and submit the requested information.
4. Print out your confirmation number for your records.
Please note, falsifying an information during the submission will automatically flag you as a denied individual. If you have any questions regarding this process, you may contact the Support Team of KnowMyHire at 877-893-5669.
