Chelsea Youth Football is excited to announce that we have joined the Jefferson Shelby Youth Football League. Our football board chose to join the JSYFL for the 2010 season based on a number of factors. We consulted with our high school and middle school coaches and both felt our membership would only strengthen our kid’s ability to compete in school ball. The proximity of the parks was another major factor in the decision process. The JSYFL has 5 of their 7 teams located within 15 minutes of Chelsea and this will significantly reduce the travel for our parents and supporters. The JSYFL was also attractive to our board because their divisions match kids based on their age, weight and grade. The league also has a mandatory team split rule at 40 kids. This gives more kids more opportunities to participate. The games will be played on weeknights as opposed to Saturdays. We evaluated more than 5 different leagues in the Birmingham area before deciding on JSYFL. To learn more about our new league please visit their website at www.jsyfl.net.
